Blech

Yeah, that's about how I feel. I've had this weird tummy ache/pain since Sunday evening, and it just won't budge. I know, gross, no one cares, yada yada yada. But it hurts, so I need to spend at least a few minutes pouting about it before I can go on with my life...................okay, done.

Comforted by the anticipation of the green

So right now I'm at work. My issue is that although I am at work, I am not doing any work. Many of you would say, 'so what's wrong with that?' I say it sucks, that's what's wrong with that. I'm one of those people who actually enjoys being busy, accomplishing goals, doing things of some importance to the population in general...but right now, I'm sitting. And writing in my blog. But mostly, sitting. I know this is a new position and they're still not sure what all they want me to do, it still doesn't change the fact that I'm stuck here doing nothing. My only solace is the fat paycheck I will receive tomorrow...according to that alone, it's a heck of a lot more worthwhile to sit here and do nothing than be back at Cita-hell doing nothing. Here, doing nothing still pays my bills.

My new lil puppy!

I adopted my first puppy on Saturday. She's an Australian Shepherd mix (or so they say), and she's 2 months old. We got her at the Texas SPCA here in Dallas. It was a tough decision, choosing one puppy out of them all. But I had picked her out already online, and it turned out that she was the one we got. Her name was KiKi at the shelter, but I named her Sadie. She's so sweet...she loves to be held like a baby and chew on just about anything. She drinks and eats more than any puppy I've ever seen. (Translation: she needs to stop going potty on the carpet.) She learned to fetch in one day. She loves Jolie (David's dog), but Jolie just started loving her back. The first two days Jolie just kind of tolerated Sadie, letting her jump around and all. She only got angry when Sadie came near her bone -- for some reason, the bone I bought Jolie when we first moved in is her favorite thing ever. I've never seen Jolie become so attached to anything! She's had it for several weeks and it's only got a few teeth marks in it instead of being all chewed up. She just enjoys carrying it around...it's the strangest thing. Anyway, we finally had to put the bone up, because every time Sadie came near it Jolie would start growling and get really angry. They're getting much better together, though. Jolie was actually playing back with Sadie yesterday, and last night they were sleeping next to each other on my bed. I just hope that Sadie is okay alone all day long while we're at work...I put her in her crate with some toys and a towel, so hopefully she'll have an okay day today. I can't wait to get home to her!
