Random Poetry

Okay, I don't know where that poetry came from...randomness...that was...interesting. At least it's not depressing. I didn't post my last poem cause it was just too sad...boo on sad poems. I'm not sad. I'm very happy. I even have a muse. Yet what comes out? Sad poems. Sad sad sad. I'm boycotting sad from now on. The next original poem will be just bursting with joy, i guarantee.

Whisper softly in my ear
The things you know I want to hear
The secret cries that echo inside
The things you wish that you could hide

Tell me truly how you feel
Tell me if this love is real
Tell me if you feel despair
Tell me when you just don't care

I want to see into your soul
The feelings that you can't control
The feelings that you can't express
That weigh down heavy in your chest

I want to feel, I want to see
What it is to really be
The one that feels your heart beating
The one that knows what you're needing

Let me in, I want to know
The feelings that you just won't show
I want to feel, I want to see
To take your heart and set it free.

Matthew 14:27-29

But Jesus spoke to them at once. "It's all right," he said. "I am here! Don't be afraid.:
Then Peter called to him, "Lord, if it's really you, tell me to come to you by walking on the water."
"All right, come, " Jesus said.
So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.

Why can't I breathe whenever I think about you
Why can't I speak whenever I talk about you
It's inevitable, it's a fact that we're gonna get down to it
So tell me
Why can't I breathe whenever I think about you

I'd love for you to make me wonder
Where it's goin'
I'd love for you to pull me under
Somethin's growin'
For this that we can control
Baby I am dyin'

Senate Schmenate

So I've decided to run for the Senate seat for the school of mass communication...so I had to go to the senate meeting tonight. The girl that I'm running against I find out is the speaker pro tempore...and she's super hardcore. I am, however, not so hardcore. Tonight they had a move to table the discussion of the election code they're working on, and they couldn't get a majority cause of some of those stupid heifers...so all of the candidates that had to be there had to stay. Fortunately, I was able to use the dance practice alibi that I emailed earlier today...and escape. I'm not sure if this senate thing is for me...she was scary. Right before I had to leave she even reiterated that everyone must stay the WHOLE TIME to be eligible to run. I think she meant...me.

J'ai fini!!!

With my French presentation behind me, I can finally breathe freely again!!! If you want to check out what I did, I put it on my webpage...it should be there for at least a week, it was way too much work to just erase...*sigh* I'm FINISHED!!! Now to study for my other midterms...*double sigh*

Abstract Art

Sleeping on the parade grounds should be a recognized art form...

We're all just bus drivers

So today my oceanography substitute professor, who has a really thick accent, was talking about waves (my real prof is playing around under the sea this week) and he says what I thought was to think about being "in the bus stop"...until he said to fill it up with water...and I was wondering why we'd fill the bus stop with water...then he put up a diagram of a bathtub on the screen...LOL
Well, I don't feel too bad...Amanda thought he said to fill it up with people...or something like that...

Co-Ed

Oh yeah...feelin good... =)

Beaucoup de Mondialisation

Here is an article in English about the book I have to use for my presentation. The material is far more interesting to read about when it is summarized and in English...
There is no way I'll be finished before class at 1:30. I'm just going to tell my professor, "Je suis désolée, mais, je ne suis pas prêt aujourd’hui…mais je promis que je vais être prêt à mercredi!" Perhaps he'll buy it...
And by the way, if you understood that sentence, you should come over and help me with my project...right now.

The Anti-American Obsession

Mondialisation

I do speak French, I do I do I do I do...*chants quietly to herself*
These people hate Americans, which mean they hate me, which gives me full rights to hate their language...even if it is my minor.
Wow...I think I'm proud to be an American.

Fungi

So this weekend the fungi and the mycorrhizae (however you spell it) just grew and multiplied and...and...oh, the drama. But it's okay, cause despite it all, i had oh so many lovely adventures that made it well worth all the trouble. =)

BAYFEST!!!

We went to Bayfest last night and saw Better Than Ezra and Hootie and the Blowfish, which was totally awesome! I was not only impressed as usual by their music, but by both bands' ability to turn rap songs into mellow rock. When you hear Hootie singing "Gin and Juice", you know that the times have changed...

In Stitches

The night before we left for the beach, Brady called and asked me to take him to the emergency room, because his head had a big gash in it. He had gotten it saving an old woman from getting hit by the campus transit bus
(or from playing basketball...whatever story suits you) and really needed some stitches. So Renee and I spent most of the night in a hospital room with Brady, watching t.v., eating frosties with french fries, and playing with the rubber gloves and the controls for the bed. I must say, it was the most fun I had experienced in a while...

Life's a Beach

So I brought some friends home for fall break this past weekend, and we went to the beach. It was amazing..ly...cold. Haha, not really. It was surprisingly warm, and Craig, Steve, and I body surfed quite a bit (in the freezing ocean) while Brady built a sand fortress/palace, and Renee...did chemistry homework and got sunburned. It was a very fun and productive day for all of us, full of sand, sea, and seafood...mmmm, I had crab claws and shrimp for dinner...yummmmm
